Gearing Up For Farmer's Day (Western Nebraska Observer – September 2025)

Farmers Day is one of those small-town traditions that sneaks up on you—kind of like a goat who’s figured out how to unlatch a gate. Around here, the barnyard happenings are in full swing as we gear up for the festivities.

"Kenny and the newest arrivals getting their 'game faces' on for Farmer's Day! Our goats are always the stars of the show when it comes to bringing the community together."

The Western Nebraska Observer recently highlighted how WeeShire Mains is jumping in this year. From organizing animal visits to helping plan events, we’re bringing the sensory farm spirit right into the heart of the celebration.

Why we love Farmers Day: For us, Farmers Day isn't just about the parade or the food (though we love those, too!). It’s about inclusion. We want to ensure that as our community celebrates its heritage, families of all abilities feel they have a place in the fun. Whether it’s meeting a calm donkey or finding a sensory-friendly corner of the fair, we’re there to help make it happen.

It’s a beautiful thing to see community pride mixed with neurodiversity awareness and a whole lot of heart.
