We Started Small. Here's How Far We've Come and Where We're Headed

A Farm That Keeps Growing
Kristi Shields at 104.3 covered everything happening at WeeShire right now. A generous private foundation grant made possible major animal enclosure improvements — including a rebuilt chicken coop, a new duck pond in progress, and barn and fencing repairs. It's a full picture of what a year of hard work looks like.

The Blueberry Field Is the Real Story
Thanks to funding from Kimball County Tourism Improvement Funds and Kaffs Funding, we're expanding in a big way. We started with 8 rows and 240 plants. We're now preparing to plant 23 more rows — bringing us to 900 plants across six different varieties for a longer harvest season. We're leveling buckets, running irrigation, and managing soil pH by hand. Sarah's mom spent a week putting 1 tsp of elemental sulfur in every single bucket. That's what this looks like up close.

What's Coming Next
When the field is ready, we'll be the first to let you know — we're sharing the journey from day one, struggles and all. And our next big project is already in motion — the Sensory Bin Barn. We're converting a grain bin into a multi-level sensory sanctuary for neurodiverse families, with candle-making workshops included. Our goal is $250,000, and every dollar stays in Kimball County.
